Light The Night Walk® is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's nationwide evening fundraising walk to celebrate and commemorate lives touched by cancer. The 2010 Light The Night South Sound Walk will be held Saturday October 9 along the Ruston Way Waterfront in Tacoma, WA.

Each fall, teams of friends, families, and co-workers raise funds for cancer research. On Walk night, they gather in cities and towns across America. Walking in twilight, they hold illuminated balloons- white for survivors, red for supporters and gold in memory of someone lost. More than a walk, the evening also includes music, food, and family activities.

Nationally the Light The Night Walk campaign raised $39 million for research and patient services in 2009 and our goal in 2010 is even more aggressive. In 2009, more than 1200 individuals participated in Light The Night South Sound. The Walk is open to all; it does not require a particular level of fitness.

Join us to hear motivating and inspiring stories from our honored heroes, meet other walkers, team captains, and Top Fundraising Club members, and share fundraising ideas. 

Tacoma Rainiers Light The Night Celebration - Friday, August 13th, 7:00pm at Cheney Stadium, Tacoma
Enjoy an evening at the ball park with your friends, family, and co-workers as we join the Tacoma Rainiers to strike out blood cancers! Tickets are available for $10, which will include entry into the game, a hot dog, and a soda. To purchase tickets or for more information, contact Courtney Hale at 206-957-4584. 
   

Team In Training® (TNT) is the largest endurance training program in the country; last year over 39,000 participants completed a Triathlon, Marathon, Half Marathon, Hike or Century (100 mile) bicycle ride. Since our inception in 1988, we have raised more than $1 billion on behalf of LLS.

Training for and participating in a TNT event is a celebration of the human spirit, physical ability, and mental endurance. It is also a celebration of life. The mission of  TNT is to use endurance event training as a symbol of hope, to raise money for research and services, to honor patients and their families and to weave connections between all of us. We invite you to join our Team, and to raise valuable funds in the fight against Leukemia and other blood cancers.

Join us for a Saturday Team Practice! Run or walk with current participants, talk with the coaches, learn more about TNT and the LLS mission.    

Tacoma Celebrity Waiters is a unique and innovative lunchtime auction held at the Hotel Murano in downtown Tacoma. The auction committee is comprised of key business and community leaders (our Celebrity Waiters) who invite guests to sit at their table to be waited on during the event. The "waiter" encourages their guests to bid on auction items, donate to research and "tip" their "waiter" throughout the fun-filled luncheon with a goal of raising more than $200,000 to support blood cancer research and patient support services.

The 2010 Celebrity Waiters auction will be held on Friday November 5, 2010 at the Hotel Murano. This event is invite-only.
